On this page
Trick-or-treat is on Halloween itself this year, Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, in every town listed below. We checked the lists from The Vindicator, the Tribune Chronicle, WFMJ, Spanning the Need, WTOV9 and River News, plus the Youngstown, Columbiana and Salem pages. A town is on here only if at least two sources agree and none disagree, or the town's own page confirms it. That's 61 communities: 18 in Mahoning County, 27 in Trumbull and 16 in Columbiana.
- 4–6 p.m.: Youngstown, Newton Falls and Newton Township
- 5–7 p.m.: most of the Valley, including Boardman, Poland, Struthers, Campbell, Girard, Hubbard, Liberty, Salem, Columbiana and Lisbon
- 5:30–7:30 p.m.: Austintown, Canfield, Berlin Township, Niles and Braceville
- 6–8 p.m.: Warren, Howland, Cortland, Mecca and Washington Township
Times can change, especially if the weather turns. Check your town's website or Facebook page before you head out. Last checked Oct. 29, 2026.

A few tips for Saturday night
- It's dark by about 6:30 p.m., so the later towns are trick-or-treating in full darkness. Grab a flashlight or some glow sticks.
- Porch light on means you're handing out candy. Porch light off means skip the house.
- Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, so set the clocks back an hour before bed.
Want more to do? The rest of the Halloween weekend, with parades, bar crawls and the last haunt nights, is in our weekend guide, and the trunk-or-treats are in the trunk-or-treat and parade list.
